Guess: Who Am I? #5
Guess: Who Am I? #5

I  creep into people’s head

To create a terrible chaos;

I make people do blunders

Oh! a nasty mess, No wonder!

For a few am the birth of an invention,

For some am the means to virtuous redemption.

Irony is in my name.. Sigh!

Am I a boon or a bane?!

Oh! I think am an uninvited guest..

I better leave, while You carry on with your quest..

Well, am running out of time,

Just Guess: Who I Am… 😉

P.S: Please leave your answer in the comment box below. Hope this is quite easy to decipher. 🙂 I also hope you liked it!

April A-Z Blogging – Day 2 : ‘B’

Here’s a poem on the worldwide famous phenomena, the early stage of depression, a disease that strikes everyone of us at one point of time or the other!

Hope you like it! 🙂

I turned on the TV to watch something new,

It’s the same old lady from the cooking show..

I flipped all the pages of the magazine

But I can’t find anything interesting!

I grabbed all the chocolates from the store

Why aren’t they tasty anymore?!

I called my friend to chat for sometime

But she too had no stories to share worthwhile..

Aaargh, I bang my head against the wall

Oh No!

Am infected by the world’s deadliest disease after all!

Today In Short : #12 – World Poetry Day!

Today is World Poetry Day!

How about a tribute to Poetry?! A poem about poetry from A to Z! Here we go! 🙂

Today In Short : #12 - World Poetry Day!

A lot to say,

But I’ve Not Many Words To Utter;

Caught in Silence, Shock, Surprise and Joy,

Desperate – in need of a way to communicate with

Endless thoughts rushing through my brain

For I do not know where to begin and explain!

Given the chance to speak my mind,

Having my vocabulary in vain; Oh no!

I‘m so lost in the sea of words!

Just let me know if there is any tool,

Known for expressing heart’s deepest thoughts

Like a handwritten journal, so simple and encrypted

Meant to reveal though not all the secrets

Nicely wrapped with just a few words

Opening a different story with every word, like

Petals in a lotus flower.

Quilling every emotion in each petal – with a different shade;

Reaping a different impact on different readers,

Sprinkling the message based on their mind’s status.

Treading the path from a different angle

Ultimately leading to my deepest thoughts

Venturing the twists and open secrets

Whilst showing the picture.. more like an

X-ray. As I searched along, I found one

Yes, a tool that satisfies all of my constraints,

Zestful and Warm – The one and only Poetry.

Love In 40 Words..

I have been invited by 3 of my buddy bloggers : Randoms by a Random – Ameena, Amrit’s Blog, and Living the dream – Hargun Wahi  to write about love in 40 words : the condition being 10 lines with 4 words in each line.

So, here it is : Love in 40 Words. 🙂

Love In 40 Words..

Forgetting to be angry,

Forgiving the biggest blunder;

Smiling after a disaster,

Supporting after huge failure;

A shoulder to cry,

A hand to lift;

Beyond all materialistic pleasures,

Bound by strong emotions;

Relationships defined and undefined,

Remains one – Just Love…

Guess: Who Am I? #4

Okay! Guess Who Am I? is back after almost a month now! The previous riddle received an overwhelming readership and response! I thank you all for the support. 🙂

The answer for Guess: Who Am I? #3  is “Waves

Yes! Many of of you guessed it right! But some of you were confused between a tide and a wave. Well, waves are dependent on the earth surface and wind while tides are determined by the gravitational pull of the moon. Hope that clarifies the confusion! For more details, Google it. 🙂

Here’s this week’s riddle. I’ve made it very easy as we have been away from riddles for a really long time! Hope you have fun deciphering this one! 🙂

Guess: Who Am I? #4

I come in all shapes, sizes and colors,

I vary from season to season.

I define a person’s career,

I depict people’s culture.

Many believe I mark their status;

For some am their presence’ signature,

While for many am a vital protection.

Ah! I don’t care what they think..

I just do my job of camouflaging..

Well, am running out of time,

Just Guess: Who I Am… 🙂

P.S: Please leave your answer in the comment box below. Hope this is quite easy to decipher. 🙂 I also hope you liked it!

The Eyes

The Eyes
The Eyes

Red and Blue and Green and Pink

All would be just meaningless words

If not for you my precious gifts

Here’s to you, Cheers! A thank you drink!

Of Violets and Oranges in the lush Green lawn

Of Silver and Gold ornaments that people adorn

Life is so full of chromatic abundance

Here’s to you, Cheers! For a rustic persistence!

You made me see all superficially

You made me blind with all the flashy lights

I could see no more of true colors underneath

My mind could see though not visually

The dark world camouflaged by all the bright lights

I could see no more; you let my heart seethe.

The poem is a combination of multiple poetic forms and techniques. It is a Sonnet where first half is an Ode (rhyme – ABBA CCDD) , second half is an Elegy (rhyme – ABC ABC) using poetic devices like Apostrophe, Enumeratio, Metaphor, Epistrophe, and Chiasmus.

To Err Is Human – Concrete Poetry / Shape Poetry

To Err Is Human
To Err Is Human

The above piece is a Concrete Poetry Or Shape Poetry where the poem is written in such a way so as to create the shape of the theme of the poem. I tried to make it look like a PENCIL, – Theme of the poem.. but ..am sorry, I could only convince you to believe me, it is! 😀

This is the first time I’ve tried something like this. Pardon me for the poor image. Will try to make a better piece next time! 🙂

I’ve also used the poetry writing technique – Enjambment

The Modern Tree – Acrostic

The Modern Tree
The Modern Tree

Twenty First century’s tree of life

Electronics, medicine, architecture, biology and many umpteen branches

Connecting loved ones from every nook and corner

Helping people for a better life

New’ is the vital – fundamental characteristic

Opening wide windows of opportunities

Logistics and analytics are the first cousins

Over million years old, with a zillion versions of upgrades

Getting better each day, inscribing a history – carving the future

Yachting its way into other planets and galaxies.

– The Modern Tree

The above piece is my first Acrostic – The first letters of each sentence forms a word – TECHNOLOGY which is also the theme of the poem. Hope you all enjoyed it. Feel free to leave your comments below! 🙂
