Doubt : The Killer Of Joy Or The Birth Of Freedom and Knowledge?

April A-Z Blogging – Day 4 : ‘D’

During my schooldays, after very lecture, our teacher would wait for us to ask her questions, some doubt regarding the concepts that were taught. Doubts meant “you understood something”. Funny, but true. Children with lots of doubts were considered intelligent and inquisitive to learn. You should have a million doubts so that you will learn a million new things!

Interesting! isn’t it? But for how long does it remain true?

Doubt : The Killer Of Joy Or The Birth Of Freedom and Knowledge?
Doubt : The Killer Of Joy Or The Birth Of Freedom and Knowledge?

Every nice word and aspect of life starts to show it’s ugly side as we grow up. When we are young we learn to make friends, as we grow we learn to understand enemies and frenemies. The words fun, happiness and peace diminish to show their ugly twins.

So does “doubt”. The very basic thought that helped us understand things in the universe and beyond the universe, make us to doubt some of the most beautiful of aspects of life too. It slowly starts to break down the tiny little blocks of faith and trust with which we built our castle called life, destroying every little space we had left for ventilation only to suffocate ourselves.

Doubts are good as long as they give a productive result. But….

When was the last time you doubted your friend?

When was the last time you doubted your love?

When was the last time you doubted yourself?

The sense of doubt is like walking on a tight rope. The more you doubt, the rope gets higher and weaker. When you think you could no longer believe in yourself/someone, the rope breaks only to drop you hard from the great heights.

Sometimes I feel so lost and directionless. I feel like a loser. I doubt my ability to achieve. I wonder if I’ll ever make it. But every single time, when this terrible thought knocks my head, I shake it back by reminding myself about the fact that “I’m born for a reason, and I’m going to make it.”

So, the next time when you are in doubt, ask yourself, “Do I really have to suffocate myself or should I take a leap of faith?”

After all life is all about making the best of now for dreaming a better future! 🙂

Guess: Who Am I? #5
Guess: Who Am I? #5

I  creep into people’s head

To create a terrible chaos;

I make people do blunders

Oh! a nasty mess, No wonder!

For a few am the birth of an invention,

For some am the means to virtuous redemption.

Irony is in my name.. Sigh!

Am I a boon or a bane?!

Oh! I think am an uninvited guest..

I better leave, while You carry on with your quest..

Well, am running out of time,

Just Guess: Who I Am… 😉

P.S: Please leave your answer in the comment box below. Hope this is quite easy to decipher. 🙂 I also hope you liked it!

Boredom

April A-Z Blogging – Day 2 : ‘B’

Here’s a poem on the worldwide famous phenomena, the early stage of depression, a disease that strikes everyone of us at one point of time or the other!

Hope you like it! 🙂

Boredom
Boredom

I turned on the TV to watch something new,

It’s the same old lady from the cooking show..

I flipped all the pages of the magazine

But I can’t find anything interesting!

I grabbed all the chocolates from the store

Why aren’t they tasty anymore?!

I called my friend to chat for sometime

But she too had no stories to share worthwhile..

Aaargh, I bang my head against the wall

Oh No!

Am infected by the world’s deadliest disease after all!

Day 22 – Best Thing To Happen This Year

2015 is moving pretty fast. The best thing to happen this year is would be : A change in my career. A step up!

Day 23 – My Dream Job

Well, I have already written about this. But.. Since it states “job” I would say – To become the CEO of a company that brings a good change in people’s lifestyle on a large scale.

Day 24 – My Favorite Childhood Book

Ah!!! Now that’s a lovely question! 🙂 I loved reading Enid Blyton’s Famous Five and I read all 21 books when I was 10-11 years old! 🙂

Day 25 – My 5 Favorite Blogs

Well, I had already mentioned them on my blog. But what’s wrong in mentioning them again?! They are really awesome blogs to look out for!

Day 26 – An Old Photo Of Me

Day 27 – My Favorite Recipe

Oh no! Am not a great cook! But I love making Tomato Pachadi. We can mix it with rice and serve as a main dish, or use it as a side dish too for roti, dosa, puri etc. Simple and easy to make! takes only 10-15 mins to prepare.

Chop juicy and ripe tomato into small dices. Put it in a pan, add turmeric powder, ginger, asafoetida, green chilli, salt and other seasoning for taste. Let it cook for 5-10 minutes. And Tadaaa Pachadi Ready! 😀

Day 28 – What Am I Looking Forward To..

Well, am looking forward to writing a good book someday. Sooner perhaps than later 🙂

Day 29 – Where Have I Travelled

Frankly, am a terrible traveller. I’v never really gone over long distant tours because I get motion sickness. But now, am wayyy better, so when I do, I will make an entry for sure 🙂

Day 30 – What’s In My Make-Up Bag

Ah.. Am not much into make-up. All I carry along is a moisturizer, a lip balm, Mascara and an eye liner!

Day 31 – Why Do I Blog

When I started this blog, all I wanted to do was to share some positive thoughts to my readers. There’s way too much of negativity and sarcasm in the internet world that morals and good thoughts are overridden by mean opinions and dirty thoughts. So, if people are looking for some thought provoking ideas that motivate and inspire them for a happy and healthy life; I wanted to make sure that they could find them right here, on my blog. So, I hope I have been doing that. And I will continue to do it forever 🙂

Thank You all so much for supporting my blog. And thank you very much for stopping by.

Be Kind. Live and Let Live.

The Eyes

The Eyes
The Eyes

.

Red and Blue and Green and Pink

All would be just meaningless words

If not for you my precious gifts

Here’s to you, Cheers! A thank you drink!

.

Of Violets and Oranges in the lush Green lawn

Of Silver and Gold ornaments that people adorn

Life is so full of chromatic abundance

Here’s to you, Cheers! For a rustic persistence!

.

But….

.

You made me see all superficially

You made me blind with all the flashy lights

I could see no more of true colors underneath

.

My mind could see though not visually

The dark world camouflaged by all the bright lights

I could see no more; you let my heart seethe.

.

The poem is a combination of multiple poetic forms and techniques. It is a Sonnet where first half is an Ode (rhyme – ABBA CCDD) , second half is an Elegy (rhyme – ABC ABC) using poetic devices like Apostrophe, Enumeratio, Metaphor, Epistrophe, and Chiasmus.

To Err Is Human – Concrete Poetry / Shape Poetry

To Err Is Human
To Err Is Human

The above piece is a Concrete Poetry Or Shape Poetry where the poem is written in such a way so as to create the shape of the theme of the poem. I tried to make it look like a PENCIL, – Theme of the poem.. but ..am sorry, I could only convince you to believe me, it is! 😀

This is the first time I’ve tried something like this. Pardon me for the poor image. Will try to make a better piece next time! 🙂

I’ve also used the poetry writing technique – Enjambment

The Modern Tree – Acrostic

The Modern Tree
The Modern Tree

Twenty First century’s tree of life

Electronics, medicine, architecture, biology and many umpteen branches

Connecting loved ones from every nook and corner

Helping people for a better life

New’ is the vital – fundamental characteristic

Opening wide windows of opportunities

Logistics and analytics are the first cousins

Over million years old, with a zillion versions of upgrades

Getting better each day, inscribing a history – carving the future

Yachting its way into other planets and galaxies.

– The Modern Tree

The above piece is my first Acrostic – The first letters of each sentence forms a word – TECHNOLOGY which is also the theme of the poem. Hope you all enjoyed it. Feel free to leave your comments below! 🙂
